Jim used the strong winds to his advantage by drifting the boat on the main lake and fishing Bibios, Green Peters and Dabblers to rise 15 trout in 4 hours, 6 of which broke him and 9 landed, including the 18lbs 12oz monster and a lovely steelhead of 5lbs 2oz. With the recent strong winds, the Main Lake is fishing well to the traditional wet flies with Black pennels working well catching William Davidson 12 trout with most weighing around 4-6lb in weight. Ryan Ferris, Banbridge, tried his luck on the Hollow Springs lake and found that black lures were doing the trick landing him 10 trout, inbetween hailstone showers!! Fishing partners Paul Turkington, John Beattie and Philip McKerr landed approximately 20 trout between them, and lost near as many, also on black lures. Islandderry Fishery is offering all anglers free catch and release on the Main Lake every Thursday in the month of June starting this Thursday 2nd June and running until 30th June.
