Police Arrest Man After Newcastle Assault

Police in Newcastle arrested a 31-year-old man following an assault in the Main Street area of Newcastle in the early hours of Monday 7 April. Shortly afterxa0midnight, police received a report that a man had been assaulted outside licensed premises in the area.dn_screen The 31-year-old was subsequently arrested following the incident. He has since been released on bail pending further enquiries. Police are investigating and would appeal to anyone with information to contact them at Newcastle on the new non-emergency number 101.
