Police seek man who approached child in Bangor

Police in Ards and North Down are appealing for information following a suspicious approach to a child in the Abbey Street area of Bangor on Thursday, 15th September.  

It was reported that at around 8.10am that a man approached a young girl and followed her towards the train station before running off.  

The man was described as having brown hair, a beard and was wearing grey tracksuit bottoms and a hoody, whilst carrying a backpack at the time.

Enquiries into this incident are ongoing and police are very aware of the concerns that this may raise in the local community with proactive patrols being stepped up in this area. 

Officers would appeal to anyone who noticed a suspicious man in the area or witnessed this incident, to contact police on 101, quoting reference number 1550 15/09/22.
