Down GAA Ladies Coaching Courses.
Ladies Coaching Courses – Fundamentals and Level 1.
Dates are now confirmed for the ladies coaching courses. As previously highlighted the men’s GAA coaching qualification does not cover ladies football so any coach involved with ladies football will need to attain the following qualifications:
1. Fundamentals
This course is an introductory coaching programme. Coaches will look at:
* Importance of creating a positive environment for our players
* Planning and implementing training programmes
* Introduction to the player pathway
* Create an awareness about making sessions more inclusive
* Importance of Fundamental Movement Skills & Injury Prevention
This will run on Saturday 12th March (venue tbc), please note to date there has been high interest and the maximum number for the course is 30. You must be 16 years and over to participate. We will be taking names on a first come, first serve basis and create a reserve list in the case of any dropouts.
The cost per person will be £20 and to book your space this money will need to be paid at the next County Board meeting on 8 February 2016.
2. Level 1
This course is developed to challenge existing coaches to look more in depth at coaching principles and practices. Coaches will apply information to solve coaching scenarios in practical situations. You must be over 18 years old, have completed the Fundamentals course and have at least 1 years coaching experience.
This course runs over two days and the first day will be held on Saturday 2nd April 2016 and then day two will be on Saturday 14 May 2016 (venue tbc). We will be taking names on a first come, first serve basis and create a reserve list in the case of any dropouts. The cost per person will be £50 per person and to book your space this money will need to be paid at the County Board meeting in March 2016.
