First winner for Pat Turley from Downpatrick at Down Royal.
Mig des Taillons supplied the first course winner for Pat Turley at Down Royal on Friday evening writes Joe Kavanagh.
The trainer is based in the centre of Downpatrick racecourse.
Connections opted for different tactics having been very well supported and raced in the rear for most when runner up at Tramore – the local horse was always prominent prior to recording a very facile victory.
The runner up Lusis Naturea (25s to 5/1) encountered traffic problems at the penultimate flight when trying for a gap, but was never a threat to the local winner which could be much better than the bare form.
Turley said: “I’ve had point-to-point winners, but it is great to get my first winner under rules. He can be a keen sort.
“It is more a handbrake you need with him! But he settled lovely today. He’ll be out again in a couple of weeks.”
