Newry Mourne Youth council has opened its 2020 applications for new youth councillors for young people aged between 15 to 19 years old.
These youth councillors can represent the voices of young people across South, Armagh, Newry and South Down.
Young people who are interested in local politics and issues that affect young people across Newry Mourne and Down communities are encouraged to apply.
The benefit of representing young people can have a positive impact on young people and make a difference in the lives of the youth in their communities.
These young people meet fortnightly to raise the concerns expressed by young people in their community.
Issues around access to education, health and the environment are all important topics that young people can lobby on to transform the approach politicians take in these areas.
The group aims to allow young people to develop social action programmes based on the needs of young people in their area.
