Mason Seeks Solution To Downpatrick Traffic Congestion

Sinn Féin MLA Cathy Mason described Downpatrick congestion as a “daily nuisance” and calls on the DfI to carry out a review to the traffic flow  as soon as possible.

Cathy Mason MLA is calling on the Department of Infrastructure to take steps to improve the traffic flow in Downpatrick.

The South Down MLA said: “Listening to local residents and business owners here in the town, it is clear they are fed up with the congestion caused by the traffic system.

“The impact on travel through and around Downpatrick at peak times of the day clearly demonstrates the need for an improved system.

“The Department must carry out a review now.

“It must engage with the local community and business leaders and come up with a revised traffic management plan that allows people to travel around our town and access local businesses and services with ease.

“Sinn Féin are committed to improving the lives of workers, families and businesses across South Down.”
