Killyleagh Family And History Society Giving Talk

Normal life will prevail promises Ken Tait, Branch Secretary of the Killyleagh and District Family History Society.Ken said they are are holding their next meeting on Monday 4 March, at 8pm in Killyleagh Masonic Hall, 50, High Street, Killyleagh.

He added: “The guest speaker this month will be Laura Spence, from Comber. This w
ill be her second visit in recent years and a continuation of her first talk about our folklore – “The Wheel Of The Year, Part 2”

“The first part was fascinating, humorous, and enjoyed by everyone present and we’re looking forward to more of the same.

“Visitors are very welcome, and as usual after the talk there will be refreshments and an opportunity to chat with the members and Laura.

“Also available for anyone keen to look into their family’s past, we have a supply of DNA testing kits and all the advice and support necessary to guide folk to understand the value of DNA testing in family history research, and how it can lead to breakthroughs in tracing ancestors and their descendants where traditional research methods have come to a dead end. (the often mentioned ‘Brick wall’).
