Are you interested in joining the Exploring Enterprise Programme (EEP) ?
The EEP introduces you to what it takes to run your own business and be an entrepreneur. It teaches you the first important steps on that exiting journey providing a very valuable insight.
Joan Tummon, Business Adviser with Down Business Centre in Downpatrick, delivers the EEP locally, said: “You can gain a FREE qualification in business enterprise through this programme. You do not even have to have a business, just be keen to explore the first steps through the EEP. It is a gateway to becoming self-employed and running your own business.
“It really is an opportunity to turn your dreams into reality with mentoring and training.
“The course is a mix of one-to-one mentoring and group sessions and basically goes at your pace. It leads to a CCEA Level One Qualification in Understanding Business Enterprise. Everyone receives suppport getting through this stage one programme.
“The course is organised in a number of straight forward modules designed to help you understand enterprise and how to get up and running as a self-employed entrepreneur or into useful, paid employment.
“The qualification covers studies in marketing,
* an introduction to the HMRC (Inland Revenue),
*Â job search and help with writing applications.
*Â CV design and development.
*Â and searching for further educational courses and related relevant training in business enterprise.
“The training will take place over a number of weeks and everyone will be fully supported, explained Joan.”
The eligibility criteria for joing the EEP are:
*Â you have to be over 16.
*Â you have to be living in the UK.
*Â you are unemploye dor inactive in work.
*Â you study less than 16 hours a week.
*Â you are not in a qualifying funded programme.
The Exploring Enterprise Programme is funded through the Northern Ireland European Social Fund in its 2014-20 programme.
