Sinn Féin South Down MP Chris Hazzard has welcomed pupils from Down High School to Westminster on a visit this week as they enjoyed a study tour of the Parliament buildings and discussed the big political issues of the day.
Chris Hazzard said: “It was enjoyable to be able to welcome a local school from South Down to Westminster, and chat about some of the big political issues that are making headlines at the moment.
“I am always impressed when I engage with local young people no matter the issue… despite lazy headlines about our younger generation being disillusioned and apathetic about politics I have always found them excited about political life.
“The wider Down High School community can be very proud of their young students. They continue to be great ambassadors for their families, their school, and indeed the entire South Down area.”
