Brexiteers should take heed of economic warnings says Hazzard.
Sinn Féin South Down MP Chris Hazzard has said Brexiteers should take heed of the economic warnings of the disastrous impact Brexit will have on the economy.
He said: “The fact that the British economy has shrunk and recorded its worst performance for a number of years is an indication of the damage Brexit is already doing.
“The uncertainty around Brexit has already damaged the economy and that will only get worse as we are dragged towards a crash-out Brexit.
“And we know that the economic impact on the North will be much worse than it is in Britain.
“These figures should provide a stark and sobering reminder to the Tories and their DUP allies of the economic carnage their reckless Brexit agenda will bring in its wake.
“There is a responsibility on the Irish government to protect the all-Ireland economy in the face of Brexit.”
