Linda Baker said, “Modelling the fashions were Telephone Carers from the Good Morning Down service Kathleen Greenwood, Anne McClure, Rosemary McGrath, Rita Mc Laughlin and Katie McMullan along with a member of the Management Committee Susan Welsh and call recipient Bernie Feenan. Also modelling was a member of the public Brenda Enwright, the owner of Market St Cafe and supporter of the service.
“The lady models were escorted up the steps onto the stage by Aidan Harris and Raymond Crea who are also Telephone Carers. The clothes were supplied by Bon Marche who gave a 10% discount to those who attended on the day. The manager of Bon Marche Vicky O’Neill and her staff dressed the models and helped with makeup etc.
“The Fashion Show was then followed by tea, coffee and biscuits. Mr Ernie Gray then entertained the crowd with an hour of great music. Assisting on the day were Betty Fitzsimons, Rosaleen McLean, Olive Heavens and Donna Marks who are also Telephone Carers at Good Morning Down, also helping were staff from the East Down Rural Community Network, Liam Gunn Downpatrick NIHE Assistant Manager, Mark Kent, Down District Community Safety Manager,  with Minders supplying the hire of a tuxedo at a discounted rate. Linda Baker  thanked everyone  who supplied prizes for the raffle and voluntary donations.
