More fitness options are on offer at Ards Borough Council’s three leisure centres, with the launch of this autumn’s programme of exercise classes.
Kettle Bells, including express 30 minute sessions at Ards Leisure Centre, are now on offer across Ards, Comber and Portaferry, where staff in the sports centre have also been trained to run Boxercise classes, as well as the regular spinning, total body fitness and circuits classes.
Ards has also introduced a new ‘Strike Fitness’ class, which combines choreographed moves and kick-boxing for a moderate work-out, while Comber is mixing spin bikes with kettle bells for ‘Cycle & Swing’, the new addition to its classes which is suitable for all levels.
While there are over 60 classes running each week, Head of Leisure with the Council, Ian O’Neill, has said the centres will continue to enhance the programme to meet customers’ needs:
“Our staff have been attending training courses over the summer months to be able to deliver these new classes and increase the range of options our customers – existing and new! – have to keep fit and active,” said Ian O’Neill, Head of Leisure with the Council. “We’re very pleased with the expanded programme and look forward to positive feedback”.
