Book your place for a free health check if you live in Annacloy or Teconnaught.
Residents within the Annacloy and the surrounding areas will be able to take advantage of free health checks on Friday 28 June in the grounds of Teconnaught GFC.
The event, which is being sponsored by the Downpatrick District Electoral Area Forum (DEA) in partnership with the County Down Rural Community Network, will see the Action Cancer bus provide basic health checks for both men and women. Women between the ages of 40-49 and 70+ can also avail of the breast screening service.
Newry Mourne and Down District Council Chairperson, Councillor Charlie Casey said: “I am pleased that people from Annacloy and the surrounding areas will be able to avail of free basic health checks.
“We all know how important it is to take care of our health and have a good diet and exercise regime. As well as striving to achieve this, it is also important to remember that it is equally important to have regular basic health checks. With our busy lives, it is easy for people to overlook the checks that will flag up health concerns such as diabetes, high cholesterol or high blood pressure.
“This free event provides a good opportunity to find out just how healthy you are and to get advice from health professionals that will help you lead a longer and healthier life.
“I would urge everyone in the area to take advantage of this and make your appointments as soon as possible. Come along on 28 June and make sure that you and your family are on the right track with your health.”
Appointments for either of these services will be available from Wednesday 29 May 2019 by contacting Action Cancer directly on 028 9080 3344, Option 1 or alternatively online at: www.actioncancer.org/appointments
