Newry virtual choir makes amazing digital version of ‘One More Day‘ from Les Miserables.
Students from the Newry-based Flynn Performing Arts school joined together virtually this week to perform this spine-tingling version of the Lis Miserable Classic anthem ‘One More Day’.
Founder and performing arts director Fiona Flynn said: “Lockdowns didn’t deter the 64 strong choir aged from 4-23 years old creating this magical performance. Each member performed their piece to mobile and made amazing renditions together over days, alongside accompanist Danny O’Neill.
“The choir members are mainly Newry region, but one performer even participated from Canada!
“The pupils thoroughly enjoyed this virtual project but can’t wait to sing together once again.”

Having graduated with a Masters in Vocal Performance from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, soprano Fiona Flynn established Flynn Performing Arts in 2015 in her hometown of Newry. Fiona specialises in singing, classical music and musical theatre and also teaches piano.
She said: “The school recently gained national success when its students received the highest marks across the UK and Ireland Trinity Centres in singing examinations.
“Since its formation in 2015, FPA have put on a bi-annual showcase and have raised in excess of £22,000 for charities including KBRT, Bosco for Africa and Cancer Fund for Children as well as participating in many other local fundraisers and events.
“Putting this video together was a chllenge. We used a range of software such as iMovie, Garage Band and ProLogic. We got there in the end. The performers worked at this for five days. We had to stitch all the singers together which was a challenge but the finished product is fantastic. Well done to all our performers!
“We don’t do full musicals but maybe that is something we can progress to in the future. At the moment we are building up great performers and they all enjoy taking part in our activities.”
