OVER 4000 entries have been received for this year’s Castlewellan Show which takes place on 13 July 2013.
With a number of national championships running including the prestigious All-Ireland Bull and Heifer Derby Limousin final, National Hereford Show, Beef Shorthorn National Championship, British Blue Derby, Blonde Calf Championship and Hampshire Down final, the standards are higher than ever.
There has been a strong entry in the sheep and equine classe with the Coolmore Search for a Young Horse competition proving very popular.
A lot of interest has been generated in the two-day goat event with poultry still attracting exhibitors of all ages.

entries have been received where the Family Fun Billy Goat’s Gruff models and scarecrows will be in abundance.
This year’s new attraction, the Fashion Show and Vintage Tea tent will showcase the world renown Magee Clothing range.  Tickets will be available on the day.
The event will raise funds for the Northern Ireland Cancer Fund for Children, which has a local respite centre in Newcastle.
Some fantastic prizes await for the Best Dressed Lady & Best Dressed Man including Slieve Donard Resort Spa treatments, a Magee tweed jacket, vouchers for TJ’s Jems, Hair Kutz, Buttercrane shopping centre and Down Royal Racecourse with a bouquet of flowers from Heaven Scent in Rathfriland.
