Hallowtides in Newcastle is bubbling up to be one of the most exciting events of the year.
This event attracts thousands of visitors to the area making Newcastle the must-visit destination for Halloween.
Businesses in the area have a vast range of events from Monday 26 to Saturday 31 October ensuring visitors have a thrilling time and showing people that they are open for business all year round. Families are encouraged to get into town early in the week to participate in the annual Treasure Hunt. This creepy mission involves hours of fun lurking around the eerie streets of Newcastle to find the treasure trove.

Local schools, community groups and businesses have been working tirelessly behind the scenes for the past number of weeks to create a fantastic carnival spectacle for the thousands heading to Newcastle to watch the unique designs meander up the eerie streets of Newcastle on Saturday 31 October.
For those looking to head to town early on Saturday 31 October there are numerous events to choose from. The popular Halloween fancy dress party in the Newcastle Centre will kick off from 1pm and be sure not to miss out on some frightful prizes and enter into the fancy dress competition from 3pm. Cool FM Roadshow will be entertaining the huge crowds from the festival stage from 5pm with music, competitions and plenty of give-aways.
Looking forward to the event, Newry, Mourne and Down District Council Chairperson, Councillor Naomi Bailie said: “Hallowtides is a marvellous family event and we encourage everyone to get involved into the Halloween spirit and participate in the many events on offer.
“The pinnacle of the event is no doubt the show stopping fireworks display which will be launched from the beach on South Promenade at approximately 7.45pm on Saturday 31 October. Events play an important role within the Council’s tourism strategy and the numbers we see flocking to Newcastle is a testament to local Community and Council working harmoniously. I commend local businesses for their hard work in ensuring the commercial and community success of Hallowtides.”
