Downpatrick FC Say Thank You To All Their Sponsors
Local businesses have backed the Downpatrick FC Â soccer team from the County Town of Down.
The committee of Downpatrick Football Club undertook a sponsorship drive last season to help cover the costs on equipment and match days.
“The response from the local business community was tremendous,” said Tony McShane, Club official. Â “We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the many businesses who sponsored the club.
“As a way of a thank-you to these businesses Downpatrick FC recently organised a raffle with three prizes.

“The sponsors of our strips and training gear were entered into their own draw with the prize being a nights B&B in the Burrendale in Newcastle which was won by Plus 2 Print.
“The next draw involved all the Match Day sponsors with the first prize being two match tickets to the Northern Ireland World Cup Qualifier against Portugal in Windsor Park. This prize was won buy Jim Masson, Managing Director of Down News.
Jim Masson said: “Local businesses can play a big part in helping out the sporting clubs in their area. Sport touches on business activity too and is an important part of our community.
“I was delighted to go and watch Ronaldo score a hat-trick again Northern  Ireland at Windsor Park – one of the treasured sporting moments in my life. Thank you Downpatrick FC!”
Tony McShane added: “The second prize was a voucher for a lovely meal at Downpatrick Cricket Club’s restaurant and this was won by Lorraine Hynds of the Bargainland Store in Downpatrick.”
