Tractor and farm machinery dealers, TH Troughton of Poyntzpass, are this year joined with Zetor dealers in Ireland and globally in celebrating the 70th anniversary of the renowned Czech tractor maker whose products they represent in Co. Down.
First produced in 1946, Ireland has had a noteworthy place in Zetor history. Imported here in the late-1940’s, when Ireland became their first export market, Zetor shared a pioneering role with others in bringing mechanisation to Irish farms.
Today, the range being marketed by TH Troughton comprises four models variants – the entry-level Major, the mid-range Proxima, the powerful Forterra series and the latest high-powered, heavy-duty Crystal.
Looking to the future, the Poyntzpass dealership foresees Zetor’s engagement with legendary Italian car designers Pininfarina, best-known for their work with Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, Maserati and others, having an important influence on the brand’s expansion in Ireland.
