THE dynamic Donard Fundraising Group who were recent winners at the Down District Chairman’s special awards ceremony, have presented a £500 donation to Mind Your Mate and Yourself (MYMY), a County Down mental health suicide, prevention charity. On Saturday 19 April 2014, at the Cunningham residence in Castlewellan, the Donard Fundraising Group’s chairman Paul Madden and some of the group’s volunteers were absolutely delighted to spring a surprise of a £500 cheque to Mind Your Mate And Yourself (MYMY) during its extremely successful MYMY Coffee Morning in Castlewellan.
“It cannot be overstated enough that MYMY/PIPS offer everyone, both children and adults in our communities, a whole range of services to help them, and that the organisation are only a phone call away or anyone can call in for more information and have a chat with them at the MYMY premises 58 Main Street, Newcastle, during their opening hours. If you know of anyone who requires help and support – please get in touch with MYMY/PIPS on 028437 27549, and further details and information is available via www.facebook/Mind Your Mate & Yourself.
Ray Cunningham, Organiser for MYMY, said: “MYMY/PIPS are really overjoyed that the local Donard Fundraising Group has chosen us as their designated local organisation to help in 2014. Their endless hard work throughout the community raising monies for us, and more importantly raising awareness of who we are and what we do cannot be commended enough.
“We have no doubt that this is the start of a solid relationship between both of our organisations and we feel our community will benefit immensely from it. On a separate note we would like to offer our warmest congratulates to all of the Donard Fundraising Group’s volunteers for their dedication and selfless hard work, and winning the recent Down District Council Chairman’s Award for ‘Best New Charity‘, it’s great to see them acknowledged for all of their volunteer work”.
