Dementia Friendly Campaign Launched By DEAs

Four District Electoral Area forums worked together to launch a dementia friendly initiative

The District Electoral Areas (DEAs) of Rowallane, Downpatrick, Mournes, and Slieve Croob, in partnership with the South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust have launched the Dementia Friendly campaign.

The focus of the campaign is to help theese areas in the Newry Mourne and Down District Coil area to become friendlier places for people living with dementia as well as their families and friends.

As part of the campaign, posters and information hubs will be available in leisure centres, libraries and local shops throughout the DEAs.

The initiative is supported by the Dementia Friendly Communities Partnership, which consists of Age Friendly, the South Eastern Trust and Alzheimer’s Society.
