ALPs (All Lives Are Precious) cross community celebration of Love Life and Happiness in the form of their Voice of Hope Concert series is coming back once again to Saint Patrick’s Church in Downpatrick on Sunday 9 September at 7.30pm.
Organiser Ronan Gilchrist said: :Everyone is welcome to attend from across our community to mark World Suicide Prevention Day.
“Headlining this event will be the spectacular singer Peter Corry and his house band with special guest appearances by local singing sensations Donna Teggart and Matthew Campbell amongst others members from our community.
“In addition to this we are super excited to be able to announce that present on this night we will have an ensemble choir off over 200 children representative of many primary schools from right across the Lecale area. This will be a tremendous experience.
“ALPs organisers are super-excited to be able to bring this event to Downpatrick again this year. The concert series has become a vital part of our work and allows the organisation to engage the whole community in a conversation around Suicide Prevention and Mental Health Awareness.
“Last year was the first time we staged such an event and upwards of 500 people where present. All of the songs included in this event are carefully selected to fit the theme of the night.
“The concert series has other dates planned in Belfast and Derry, but, as an organisation, ALPs put Downpatrick once again at the top of their list.
“I would like to thank Fr Murray and all attached to Saint Patrick’s Church and the Parish of Downpatrick for granting their permission to use the Church for this special event.”
Tickets for this event are onsale now at a cost of £15 and are available from Flixx Graphics on Irish Street in Downpatrick and Saint Patrick’s Parish Office, or can be purchased online via:
