The employability programme, in partnership with Southern Regional College, Community Advice Newry Mourne and Down, and Women’s Aid Armagh Down, has been operating successfully in the Downpatrick area for the past 10 months.

The introduction of this qualification is in response to feedback from a recent Information Event ran by Ballynahinch Jobs and Benefits Office which highlighted the difficulty care homes and other caring agencies have in recruiting qualified staff to carry out caring roles in this sector.

Employ Me Programme Manager, Jude Keenan said: “Employ Me responds to gaps in the labour market and tailors our training and workshops to try to fill these gaps.

“We are excited to launch the Domiciliary Care qualification in Downpatrick and hope to see an increase in recruitment within the care sector.”

In conjunction with Southern Regional College, Clanrye Group are offering a free 10 week Level 1 OCN qualification in Domiciliary Care  (each Friday 9am – 1pm) with the opportunity of a job interview upon completion with Jark Recruitment and The CWC Group.
