“At last local people feel they are receiving the support they need to address this issue and because it has been highlighted in recent times, there is a feeling that the public are now becoming more aware of the distress that is being caused by inconsiderate parking in the village. [caption id="attachment_26703" align="alignleft" width="400" caption="The inter-agency group that met to address the parking issues near the exit gate to Tollymore Forest Park in Bryansford."][/caption] “The problem has arisen because some people are unwilling to pay to bring their vehicles into Tollymore Forest Park and they prefer to enter the park via the exit gates. People should understand that the entrance to Tollymore Forest Park is not in Bryansford Village. Cyclers, footballers and runners choose to ignore this fact and enter the park through the exit gates in order to train. “As if this wasn’t bad enough, many of them strip off their clothes in front of village residents in order to change into training gear. This attitude is simply unacceptable and should not be condoned. So we are calling on all responsible people to bring their vehicles into the park in future. Other people are removing police cones in order to park their vehicles illegally, but they should be warned that such behaviour will be reported to the PSNI. “Police cones are the property of the PSNI and should not be interfered with by members of the public. We will continue to meet the challenges of people who persist in causing a nuisance in Bryansford and at the Priest’s Bridge until the message gets through to everyone. “If they want to walk their dogs or ride horses in Tollymore Forest Park, or if they want to train with their sports’ clubs in the park, then they should enter the park through the entrance gates on the Newcastle Road, and they should bring their vehicles with them,” added Cllr O’Boyle.]]>
