B&M Store Re-Opens In Downpatrick After The Flood

B&M Downpatrick store re-opens after a total refit following the flooding in 2023

The B&M store in Downpatrick has finally re-opened after being flooded out last year at Halloween in 2023.

The store provides a space of 7,671square feet and customers can expect to find the usual fantastic wide variety of branded groceries for the best possible price including a range of food, drink, and pet food.

There will also be a selection of quality health and beauty products, homeware, electricals, DIY essentials, toys, games, gifts, and plenty more to explore.

The colleagues were asked to nominate a local charity they think truly deserves some VIP treatment for the work they do for the local community. They chose the team from Fountain Foodbank to take centre stage and officially unveil the new B&M store.

B&M staff at the re-fitted store in Downpatrick are delighted the store has been re-opened following a re-fit after the flooding in October 2023

Fountain Foodbank is an independent foodbank helping those in Downpatrick and surrounding areas. They provide emergency food parcels to those who find themselves in difficult circumstances.

Their aim is to reduce food poverty in the local area, whilst also working with local agencies who can provide long-term support or benefit advice to offer a full-rounded support approach.

In addition to opening the store, the Fountain Foodbank team will also receive £250 worth of B&M vouchers, which will go towards helping the charity to continue doing the great work they do.

The store manager from B&M said: “We’re feeling extremely positive about the creation of more jobs for local people, and we hope customers are going to be delighted with their new store.

“It was really exciting to welcome customers through the doors; the feedback so far has been fantastic.

“A big thank you to the team at Fountain Foodbank who helped us open the store; we hope that our donation can help them to continue to do the great work they do.”
