The Seniors had a 9-point victory over St Michael’s on Friday night at Ardtole 0-15 to 0-6, in a game that was frequently interrupted by the visitors over-eager physical approach, which largely went unpunished by the referee in terms of cards writes Michelle Taggart.
The home side however maintained their composure and continued to impose their dominance on the scoreboard to secure their second home win of the season. Best wishes to Philip Curran who had to leave the field with a broken finger.

The RESERVES lost away to Drumaness on Sunday afternoon. With the minimum amount of players available, Ardglass faced an experienced Drumaness panel. The opening exchanges of the game were quite balanced however two quickfire goals from the blues changed the complexity of the game and Ardglass were unable to recover. Mark Magennis made several fine stops in goal while Mark Cahir, Ronan Crangle and Lee McEvoy performed admirably throughout the hour.
The U-16s lost away to Dundrum on Thursday, travelling to the bayside with mainly an U14 squad, the team showed heart throughout and saw an improved display from the previous week.
The U-14’s game was cancelled as Darragh Cross were unable to field while we ourselves were unable to field at Minor level on Tuesday.
The U-12’s lost to Darragh Cross at home on Sunday afternoon, a physically stronger Darragh side over powered the home side, although there were strong performances from Dara O’Shea, Oisin Dunn and Rachel Rooney.
On Saturday morning Ardtole hosted the first joint U-8 & U-10 East Down Blitz of the season and a great morning of football was had by all competing teams. The Ardglass U-8’s saw John Connor, Zara Brown and Cillian Fitzsimmons making their debut at this age group and the were ably assisted by the more experienced trio of Callum Rogan, Ruairi Byrne and Oran Denvir, while the livewire pair of Jack McConkey and Eoin Rooney must have covered every blade of grass against Dromara and Ballykinlar. The U-10’s also showed high levels of skill and determination against Darragh Cross and Ballykinlar, with Patrick Dunlop and a returning Caolan Deegan showing a wide range of skills in attack and defence.
