Alliance MLA Welcomes Donations for Little Stars Pre-School

Alliance MLA Nick Mathison has welcomed donations to support Little Stars Pre-School in Killyleagh, following a recent visit to the school with party colleagues Councillors Tierna Howie and David Lee-Surginor.

During the visit, staff shared their concerns about the growing challenge of maintaining essential supplies on a limited budget.

Strangford Alliance MLA Nick Mathison said: “The struggle to manage budgets in the pre-school sector, particularly to cover vital services and supplies, is becoming an increasingly widespread issue.

“The staff at Little Stars in Killyleagh do an incredible job creating a supportive, caring, and inclusive environment for the children and families they serve.

“That’s why I felt it was important to establish a collection point for donations, ensuring the high level of care and education they provide is not impacted by financial constraints.

“Anyone wishing to contribute can drop off items at my office in Comber, open Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm. All donations are greatly appreciated and will make a meaningful difference in supporting early years education at Little Stars.”

Items suggested for donation include:

  • toilet roll, tissues, kitchen roll.
  • Baby wipes, antibacterial spray, disinfectant, bleach.
  • Washable markers, paints, face paint, crayons
  • White and coloured paper, coloured card.
  • Glue sticks, stickers, children’s scissors.
