Ardaluin House Plans Unveiled At Open Evening

At a special reception and open evening held on Wednesday 19th October plans for the regeneration of Ardaluin House on the proposed future development and regeneration were outlined including a tour of Ardaluin House and the grounds. Minister for the Department of Social Development Nelson McCausland MLA also attended the launch. Plans unveiled include a multi-functional sports and activity camp providing 0utdoor learning opportunities for over 5,000 children and young people annually as well as to introduce forest school principles, environmental education, off road mountain biking archery, orienteering and climbing. He added, “I would like to congratulate Ardaluin Regeneration Trust in their forward thinking plans regarding the regeneration of Ardaluin House, and the surrounding grounds.  A lot of work is needed to restore Ardaluin House but it is in a unique location with a number of unique selling points.” “Already work has been carried out regarding the Walled Garden, and site surveys of Ardaluin House and grounds, as well as M&E advice and tender already specification completed., “I have no doubt judging by the voluntary efforts and enthusiasm shown so far to date by the volunteers and trustees in financial, and in kind support that the vision to rescue, restore and regenerate Ardaluin House and grounds by the Ardaluin Regeneration Trust in partnership with Belfast Activity Centre will be achieved. “I would like lend whatever support I can and to wish both Ardaluin Regeneration Trust and partners Belfast Activity Centre, who are leaders and innovators in outdoor experiential learning and outdoor activity facilities, success in redesigning Ardaluin House.”]]>
