Islandderry Rainbows Keep Anglers Busy

At Islanderry at the moment there is  lovely clear water, a brillant evening rise and plenty of fish being caught on the two lakes.

This included over 20 fish each for Portadown brothers Arthur and William Coachman who started off fishing bloodworm and buzzers from the boat and then moved onto the bank to land a couple more fish each before going home.  Mark Brush, Lisburn, was fishing Buzzers and Dwal Blacs from the boat to release 16 trout which included 2 5lb trout and one off 6lb.  Andy McCandless fished the evening rise to release 11 on dries with a lot of fish rising to the large numbers of Sedges and Buzzers on the lake

C Pearson from Banbridge released 8 trout in a evenings fishing with his best weighing around 6lbs while Andrew Kirkpatrick, Bangor, fished Sedges to release 15 in 2 hours on the main lake.

The next competition is on Saturday 18th August with a first prize of £100 cash.  The competition is fly fishing and open to all with a entry fee of £25 which will include 3 fish, boat if available and food.  There is a £100 cash prize for the heaviest bag of 3 trout.  There is also a junior competition on the Hollow Springs lake on the same day entry fee £10.
