Strangford MP Jim Shannon has thanked all who attended the DUP Lower Ards Fundraiser and most especially Peter Bone MP who came from England to be a guest speaker along with Paul Girvan.
The event was held in Ards Elim Church and catered by the church. Mr Shannon said: “I love having our dinner in the Church hall as it means that the church are able to support various projects. This year it was a humanitarian trip to Peru as well as an ongoing mission work in Swaziland. It is a good night with great food and knowing that the money is going to great causes is excellent.
“It was a very relaxed evening with food and fellowship and great speeches from Peter Bone MP and Paul Girvan. The remarks were focussed on Brexit and it was good for people on the ground to hear that MP’s had met with German Car dealers whose British business is worth approximately £50million per annum and who are pushing for a deal to suit them – sometimes the news doesn’t cover these figures as clearly.
“Peter Bone MP gave a rousing fact filled speech which was enjoyed by all the membership and a good night was had by all.”
