St Bronagh's GAC Notes For 29 November 2016

Congratulations Anthony & Brian: Congratulations to our new Chairman Anthony Donnan Snr on being appointed at the club’s AGM. Anthony takes over from Malachy McCourt who spent 5 years at the helm this time round. Thanks to Malachy for all of his hard work and dedication to the club over the past 5 years – and it’s good to see him remain on the committee.

Congratulations also to Brian Keenan in the role of Vice Chairman, and to Jonathan Connolly who is our new Assistant Treasurer. The rest of the Executive Committee was returned as previous. In a further change, Richy Byrne steps up into the role of PRO.

Full list of the 2016 committee will be posted in due course.

Léiriú comes out on top in Ulster Semi Final: By Kieran McNally: Rostrevor emerged victorious from the second Ulster Scór na nÓg Semi Final; overcoming stiff competition from Slaughtneil Emmetts (Derry), Eglish (Tyrone) and Gaoth Dobhair (Donegal) to claim first place in Galbally. The Donegal champions from Gweedore also progressed in second place, but an excellent performance of ‘Rising from the Ashes’ secured an impressive victory for the young act.

Continued success in the drama section of the Scór programme really places the club at the forefront on the provincial stage and optimism will be high for a potential tilt at a third Ulster title in a fortnight’s time. Christina, Owen and Eileen Rice, Emmett, Caoimhe and Oisin McClorey, Michael Murphy and Aidan Mackin represented the club with distinction and should be rightfully proud of their achievements in helping the club reaching an outstanding tenth Ulster Final in fifteen years.

The Ulster Final will be held in Silverbridge on Saturday 12th December on what is sure to be an action packed day for the club!
