SERC Is Family Friendly Public Sector Winner

South Eastern Regional College (SERC) has recently been named as Public Sector winner at the Employers for Childcare Family Friendly Employer Awards 2018.

Employers for Childcare are a charity which developed from a community project set up in 1998, encouraging employers to implement family friendly policies in the workplace.

Now in its eighth year, The Family Friendly Employer Awards acknowledge and showcase employers who go above and beyond the legal requirements to help staff achieve their desired work-life balance.

The awards were held at the Galgorm Resort & Spa on Wednesday 24 October which was attended by over 150 professionals from organisations from across the UK which saw six companies crowned‘Family Friendly Employer of the Year’xa0for their sector, along with an overall winner

The judges described SERC’s entry as “overall a very good application”. It focused strongly on outcomes and showed a great range of initiatives that go beyond what is statutory, particularly in the public sector. One judge noted the entry showed “excellent examples of really making a difference to employees’ work and family lives”.

SERC Principal and chief executive Ken Webb said: “To win this award is an exciting milestone and a tremendous achievement. It identifies our commitment to putting the needs of our employees and their families of the forefront of what we do.”
