Killyleagh Summer League
GOALS galore in the junior section as the Killyleagh Summer League wrapped up for another season.
Caolen Lennon, Sam Kirk and Sam Carson all ended up with four goals at the Bridge Centre playing fields on Wednesday night.
Josh Burgess, Karl Martin and Jay Dickson each bagged two goals, while Lewis Kennedy, Ethan Pirie and Jack Coulter also got on the scoresheet. In the penalty king competition, Karl Martin won the P3 title with Sam Carson the P4 winner writes Chris Hagan.
SENIORS
Numbers were smaller than usual in the senior section but there was still some top quality action.
Ben Brown top scored with six, Karl Irwin bagged five and Dawson Morrow and Max Grieves each found the back of the net four times. Also on the mark were: Matthew Lynch (3), Jake Clydesdale (3), Finn Quinn (2). Curtis Ross (2), Daniel Noble (2) and Jake McGrillen.
The senior penalty king was Ben Grieves.
MINORS
Finn Quigley was the player with the red hot boots this week in the minor section, top scoring with five goals.
Cody Carson and Scott Irwin rattled in four goals each while Ethan Davidson and Mackenzie Murray rounded off the season with a hat-trick each.
Scott Gribben (2), Riley Mills (2) and Ben Rooney (1) also got among the goals. The penalty queen was Jodie-Lee Rice with Scott Gribben the P2 king and Cody Carson the P1 penalty king.
* Parents are asked to note that the presentation night will be on Friday 19 August at 7pm at the Bridge Centre.
* The League has taken up an invitation from the Crossgar Youth League to send a girls P1 and P2 team, and a boys P3 and P4 team to take part in the Crossgar Open Day on this Saturday. Children taking part should report to Lislea Drive by 1.45pm.
* A total of £75.86 was raised for Tearfund to help children affected by the famine in east Africa. This was raised as a result of the weekly coffee and tea bar, organised by Michelle Hagan. Thanks to all parents who supported this cause.
* Thanks to former Youth League player and Amateur League youth team representative player Chris Curran-Cochrane who helped with coaching.
