Fidelio Trio Brings Musical Excellence to Castlewellan

DOWN Arts Centrexa0and Moving on Music present a relaxing and inspiring afternoon of classical music at its finest withxa0Fidelio Trioxa0at 3pm on Sunday 27th March at The Lodge Cultural Centre, Castlewellan. Fidelio Trio brings together the virtuoso talents of Belfast-born violinist Darragh Morgan, Cork-born pianist Mary Dullea and cellist Robin Michael. Closely associated with many leading composers, Fidelio Trio regularly perform a diverse repertoire throughout Europe, Asia and South Africa. The trio’s members are skilled interpreters of new music, but are equally at home with classical and romantic repertoire, gaining critical acclaim for their performances of Schumann and Ravel in particular. "][/caption] 2009-10 season highlights for Fidelio Trio included a début at Wigmore Hall, London, a concert tour of China and a sold-out performance at the Centre Culturel Irlandais in Paris. The trio’s 2011 season will include tours of Northern Ireland, Scotland, South Africa and a début tour of USA, in addition to plans to releases two CDs. For this performance at The Lodge Cultural Centre, Fidelio Trio will perform works by Grainger, Korngold and Ravel. The show will also include two new commissions by Northern Irish composers Philip Hammond and Stephen Gardner, which have been supported by the National Lottery, through the Arts Council of Northern Ireland.
