A Day with Bruiser at Down Arts Centre

Bruiser Theatre Company is one of Northern Ireland’s most vibrant and successful arts organisations.

Founded in 1997 and based in Belfast, Bruiser produces theatre that is exciting and innovative, down to earth, and accessible to all.

They are committed to providing high impact theatre experiences for our audiences in Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland and further afield.

They aim to use minimal set for maximum impact, whilst further exploring the notion of the actor as the centre of the action, enforcing them as the main mechanism of performance.

Pupils from three local schools attended a one day theatre course organised by Bruiser Theatre Company.

Inspiring the next generation of talent is a core part of Bruiser Theatre Company’s vision.

They provide training and development opportunities to young actors through their education and outreach programmes – A Day with Bruiser and The Arts Academy.

Recently on A Day with Bruiser were pupils from Saint Patrick’s Grammar School, Dromore High School, and Down High School.

A Day with Bruiser is a full-day crash course for Drama students across Northern Ireland.

It is the perfect opportunity to get to grips with and explore Bruiser’s unique physical theatre style.

This course is aimed at GCSE, AS, A2 Level and BTEC students studying Drama, Performing Arts and Theatre courses.

A Day with Bruiser consists of three workshops delivered by Bruiser’s team of expert facilitators.

Course content is specifically tailored to the requirements of all major exam boards.
