Final Stage Of Store Renovation Underway At Asda Downpatrick

ASDA Thanks Local Customers For Their Support And Patience.

The final stage of a remodelling programme, which will result in a refreshed and more convenient shopping experience, has been confirmed for Asda’s popular Downpatrick superstore.

Essential maintenance work is due to start on 2 August and will be complete by the 21 September, bringing to an end an extended period of disruption. All work will take place during the nightshift to further minimise the impact on customers.

Once complete, shoppers will welcome back the hugely popular pizza, deli and fresh fish counters, as well as a new-look bakery, offering the full range of freshly baked breads and treats.

ASDA’s award-winning seasonal ranges will also gain substantially more prominence within the store, resulting in greater choice and value to help celebrate events such as Halloween, Christmas, Mother’s Day and Easter. The popular George fashion area within the store will benefit from an improved, more accessible layout.

Thanking customers for their patience and support throughout the refurbishment programme, store manager Simon Fisher said: “This has been an extended period of disruption and I want to thank all our loyal customers for their patience and support. I can assure them that it will be worth it as the store will offer everything they need – all under one roof – backed with the quality, convenience and value they’ve always expected from ASDA.

“Favourites such as our pizza counter, combined with re-introduction of the fresh fish range and more seasonal options than ever before, will make shopping an easy, accessible and affordable experience for all.”

Throughout the final stages of the refurbishment, ASDA will continue to offer its online click and collect service to shoppers in the area.
