The agenda for Down District Council’s meeting on Monday 22nd August starting at 6pm, has two items relating to the recommended lease: 6 (g) Minutes of Strategic Policy & Resources Committee held on 1st August 2011 to confirm the minutes to be a correct record and to consider the minutes and 10 (e) Correspondence received: Letters of objection received re: Magnus Viking Development at Delamont. Access, even in a reduced format where financially sensitive information is blackend out, has been denied to many interested stakeholders, including Councillors. Has there been an independent appraisal to check projections and assumptions are deemed accurate? * Many users of Delamont Country Park value the quiet shoreline walk. The granting of a 25 year lease of public amenity land must be approached with due diligence when loss of high quality public amenity is involved. * Have the conditions stipulated by Planning Service been factored into the business plan? They have financial implications, especially the question of safe disposal of effluent. “Please come along to show in a democratic way that you care about this shoreline and support the opposition to siting a Viking Re-enactment Village in this part of Delamont Park,” she added.]]>
