The highlight was to be a children’s street party on Friday afternoon and a Tribute to the Millions interdenominational open-air church service on Sunday night. 

However, a personal tribute was paid at the War Memorial at 11am on Friday by Billy Croskery, the chairman of the local Royal British Legion.
