All the VE 75 events in Killyleagh were cancelled on VE Day in line with the public safety advice due to the coronavirus epidemic.
The highlight was to be a children’s street party on Friday afternoon and a Tribute to the Millions interdenominational open-air church service on Sunday night.
However, a personal tribute was paid at the War Memorial at 11am on Friday by Billy Croskery, the chairman of the local Royal British Legion.
