New year abandonments continue as two cats found deserted in a zipped-up shopping bag

Two cats that had been left stressed and terrified after being dumped in a sealed shoppingxa0 bag, have been brought into the USPCA by a caring member of the public.

On Saturday 20th January, at the Fiveways shopping complex in Newry, a member of the public noticed that an individual appeared to have left their shopping behind near public toilets.

They soon discovered that inside the sealed Disney patterned shopping bag were two frightened and confused cats.

They are now in the good care of the USPCA veterinary and rehoming teams. They have received a full health check including flea and worm treatment.

“N”ow that the cats are in the care of our team, we will ensure they know nothing but the warmth, love and care that should be afforded to all companion animals.
