Strangford MP Delivers Oath In Ulster Scots In Commons

Jim Shannon MP to deliver his oath in Ulster Scots in Westminster 

Jim Shannon, DUP MP for Strangford, has welcomed the opportunity to give his oath in Ulster Scot’s in the new sitting of Parliament after the General Election.

Jim said: “As an Ulster Scot it was a fantastic opportunity to once again give my oath in Ulster Scots.

“It is so important to keep alive the wonderful culture of this language and show a true representation of Ulster Scots in the mother of all Parliaments.

This is the 4th time now I have given my oath in Ulster Scot’s, and it is so great to showcase this to new MPs and highlight how it is still very much a massive part of culture in Northern Ireland.”

Jim Shannon has taken the oath in Ulster Scots for his fourth term in office at Westminster as a Strangford DUP MP.
