Shannon Welcomes World Credit Union Conference Coming In 2016

Jim Shannnon, DUP MP for Strangford, has welcomed news that the World Credit Union Conference will be coming to Northern Ireland next year.

dn_screenCommenting following a Credit Union reception in Westminster, Mr Shannon said: “As a member the All-Party Group on Credit Unions I welcome news that the World Credit Union will be hosting its conference in Northern Ireland in July of next year.

“The growth of Credit Unions in the province has been most encouraging and speaking to the Chair of the World Credit Union I remain encouraged about the future. I hope that when the World Credit Union comes to Northern Ireland that delegates will be visiting some of the credit unions within my constituency.”

The conference will bring a large number of delegates bound to contribute to the local economy while here and the momentum we have seen in terms of growth of credit unions within the province can hopefully carry through into a more cohesive credit union sector within Northern Ireland.”
