Cross Border Police Move Against Burglars

Officers from right across Lisburn and Castlereagh; Newry, Mourne and Down; Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon and Fermanagh and Omagh Districts , worked in partnership with An Gardaí Siochana, as part of an ongoing anti-burglary operation. Over 124 vehicle check points were conducted, eight vehicles were seized and officers made eleven arrests.

Inspector Russell Vogan said: “Tackling burglaries remains of major importance. Our overall aim is to keep people safe and bring more offenders before the courts. We know that burglary is a crime that can have a high victim impact when a person’s property is broken into. On a daily basis, police officers respond to calls for help from people who have been burgled, so we are very much aware of the effect these incidents can cause. We are committed to bringing those responsible before the courts.”
