Undoubtably there will be evenings when play is cancelled and parents are reminded that on these nights there will be no competition. A coffee and tea bar will also be available to parents this year. The summer league too has a new feature this year with a guest coach taking part each week. There will be some of the most successful youth coaches in Killyleagh’s history, former managers and current Irish League players who have come through the ranks. More details will be released in time for it starting next week. Also, the final touches are being put to the first big event the league is participating in this year, in the Great Poppy Weekend on Saturday 11th June from 9.30am. Killyleagh is hosting the Royal British Legion’s  celebration of the 90th year of the Legion.  The medal presentation will take place later that morning at the castle. * You can follow Killyleagh Summer League on the Facebook page for regular updates. * Congratulations to a former Summer League player, Johnny Cheevers, who has been selected for the Amateur League representative team. Two other former league players, Chris Curran-Cochrane and Ryan Montgomery have been selected for the Amateur League youth team playing in Italy. Well done to them. * And congratulations to Aidan Wason, who also who started out in the Summer League. He has been named Carling Player of the Month and featured for Crusaders in Saturday’s Irish Cup final against Linfield.]]>
