£190 Million Ulster Hospital Works Start

[/caption] The next stage of the redevelopment (£130m) will provide a new inpatient ward block to include: * xa0Inpatient accommodation – 12 wards, each with 24 single ensuite bedrooms * xa04 day surgery suites * xa03 endoscopy suites * xa0Cardiac Catheterisation Lab * xa0Pharmacy Construction will commence in February 2011 with essential enabling works which are scheduled to complete in Spring 2012. This will be followed by the construction of the ward block which is due to complete in Autumn 2016. Following the inpatient ward block, an Acute Services block will be constructed to provide a new Emergency Department, Radiology and Specialist Wards to complete the Phase B Redevelopment process. Seamus McGoran, Director of Hospital Services said, xa0“This is an important day in the continued redevelopment of the hospital. The new block will substantially improve the patient environment, bring new technology into the hospital xa0and will allow us carry out more surgery and day case work.”]]>
