Newry festival calls for event organisers to help organise 2025
Help fill Newry with music!
The annualxa0Iúr Cinn Fleadhxa0is calling for people to join them to help organise the 2025 festival.
These essential volunteers will enjoy the fun and freedom of being at the helm of this highly popular event – and help steer future expansion.
Next year’s dates have just been announced as 21-25 August, and festival-goers have been welcoming the news alreadyxa0on social media.
This year Iúr Cinn Fleadh featured more than 80 events and activities – ranging from pub sessions and cafe concerts to trad cruises and canoe journeys along the canal.
Boats, bars, shopping centres and churches were just some of the venues filled with the sound of trad as thousands attended the five-day festival. Irish folk legends Altan topped the bill at Newry Town Hall, hosted by Narrow Water Promotions in conjunction with Iúr Cinn Fleadh.
Fleadh committee member Brian Fitzpatrick enthused about the event organiser role. ‘It’s an opportunity to gain much experience in organising, hosting and promoting our citywide festival, generating a great vibe and making top notch music happen in Newry,’ he said.
