Downpatrick woman convicted of benefit fraudxa0

A woman was convicted at Downpatrick Magistrates’ Court today for claiming benefits she was not entitled to.

Tammy Snodden (37) of Struell Close, Downpatrick claimed Carer’sxa0Allowance totalling £5,009 while failing to declare employment. Ms Snodden was given a conditional discharge for a period of 12 months to run concurrently.

She is also required to repay any outstanding money wrongfully obtained to the Department for Communities.

Banbridge woman convicted of benefit fraudxa0

A woman was convicted at Newry Magistrates’ Court today for claiming benefits she was not entitled to.

Laura Heaney (27) of Iveagh Close, Banbridge claimed Income Support totalling £2,947 while failing to declare employment. Ms Heaney was given 180 hours community service.

She is also required to repay any outstanding money wrongfully obtained to the Department for Communities.
