Winter League Continues At Islandderry Trout Fishery

The third round of the winter league took place at Islandderry Fishery recently.

Despite the lake being frozen and ice having to be broke on it, xa0anglers had a good days fishing with good numbers of trout caught.

Paul Brown, Dromore, xa0won this round of the league with a 3 fish bag weight of 9lbs 3oz giving him a total of 19 points which has put him into first place overall.

Second place in this round went to Belfast angler Paddy Brunty with 3 fish for 9lbs while Lurgan angler Peter Reid finished third with 3 fish for 8lbs 13oz.

The next round of the league will be held on Saturday 31 January 2015. Full results are available on the fishery website at:

The fishery will be closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day and then open everyday as normal over the Christmas and New Year holidays with the popular Boxing Day competition taking place on Friday 26 December.
