Councillor Billy Walker explained that this organisation was formed to ensure that the Killyleagh Twelfth bonfire was done in a “friendly and neighbourly way.”

He added: “We have been running these free fin days for the local children of both sides of the community for ten years = all are welcome. The fun day is really a way of recognising the good behaviour and community mindedness of people in our town.

“As their local representative I must say this is an excellent event and is always very well attended by all. It is going from strength to strength and must continue so that it can promote good relations in our community.

“This fun day brings our whole community together in friendship and that is to be welcomed.”
