He said: Last year I brought the issue of the lack of an bus shelter on Frederick St in Killyleagh to the previous Down District Council.

“After debate and consultation it was agreed to erect one, and this was to be in place by April this year. But as to date it has not been erected. So on Wednesday again I raised the matter at the new super council and made it clear that an approval decision was taken in Down Council and this should be honoured as a legacy issue.

“This bus stop services both the Downpatrick and Belfast routes and warrants a shelter so the new Newry Mourne and Down Council needs to act on this as soon as possible as the new school term is about to start. There are a lot of school children who board the bus each day and it should really be in place now,” said Councillor Walker.
