Van Morrison – a Bio

A unique talent, and undoubtedly one of the finest and most distinctive vocalists in rock music veering constantly between the brilliant and utterly extraordinary, Van Morrison’s  career has taken him in countless different directions with his original signature blend of jazz, blues, classical and folk. A Belfast native, Van grew up listening to American music with his parents, his favourite artists being greats like Leadbelly, Mahalia Jackson, Lightnin’ Hopkins and other legends of blues and soul. With more than 200 of his own compositions featured in major motion pictures, Van Morrison was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2003 by the late Ray Charles. Van is arguably our greatest musical superstar with a career spanning five decades and acclaimed as a major influence by many of the world’s leading pop performers. Having recently launched  his new album Born To Sing:No Plan B, his performances  continue to cross musical boundaries and  win critical acclaim.
